An independent controller diagnostic platform, built by gamers.
GPADLAB is a browser-based diagnostic lab and review platform for game controllers. We test everything hands-on, publish honest hardware truths, and lock ratings before any affiliate relationship exists. This page explains why the project started, how it stays independent, and what we owe you as a reader.
A broken controller. No good tools. So we built one.
GPADLAB started with a simple frustration: a controller with a stick that had physically fallen off during a match, and no easy way to figure out what was actually wrong with it. The tools that came up in searches were either confusing, buried under ads, or only tested a few inputs and called it a day.
So we built our own. What began as a small button-testing tool for personal use slowly grew into a full project — a complete diagnostic platform, honest hardware reviews, device-specific troubleshooting, and a growing glossary to help other gamers understand what's actually inside their controllers before they spend money on new ones.
GPADLAB is a father-and-son project, still built in spare time. Every feature we add starts the same way: a real problem one of us hit while gaming, and a decision that somebody else out there probably hit the same wall and deserved a better answer.
Editorial principles, in plain English
These aren't corporate values on a wall. They're the actual rules we hold ourselves to when writing every review.
Hands-on hardware testing
Every review starts with a real controller in real hands, running real diagnostics — not marketing copy, not spec sheets, not aggregated Reddit sentiment. If we haven't tested it, we don't rate it.
Ratings locked before affiliate deals
Star ratings, tier placements, and verdicts are finalized before any affiliate relationship is considered. Commission structure never influences editorial. This is written policy, not a marketing line.
Honest hardware truths
Most affiliate-focused sites bury the uncomfortable facts — potentiometer sticks in premium controllers, QC failures on flagship models, licensing costs that inflate MSRP. We lead with those facts, because you deserve to know before you buy.
Transparent methodology
Every test, threshold, and grading algorithm is documented publicly. You can read exactly how our Controller Health Score is computed, which sensors we detect, and where our data comes from — because trust requires seeing the work.
Based in Karachi, Pakistan. Serving gamers globally.
GPADLAB is an independent project — no venture funding, no publisher parent company, no undisclosed relationships with hardware brands. Our tools run entirely in your browser and work on any controller, any platform, anywhere in the world.
