Wired PC controllers: choose for your setup
Start with the games and ports you use. A wired controller avoids charging and pairing, but a cable alone does not guarantee lower input lag or better game support.

For a PC and Xbox desk: GameSir G7 SE

Choose this exact wired model if you want a simple USB pad and two extra bumpers. The L4 and R4 buttons can be mapped on the controller without a separate app. The maker lists Windows 10 or later and Android 9 or later. Do not assume that the similar names of the wireless and Xbox models mean they share the same platform support.
8BitDo advertises Hall effect sticks and triggers and a 1,000 Hz polling rate. That rate is a manufacturer specification, not a measured end-to-end delay in your game. If your main reason to upgrade is lag, first rule out frame rate, display settings and a poor USB connection.

Consider the standard Xbox and PC Tournament Edition when extra controls matter more than wireless use. Razer lists Hall effect sticks for this version. Match the full product name when shopping: the newer 8K PC edition is a different model. A review or profile for one should not be used as proof of the other model’s features.
Think about the actions you want to move off the face buttons. Jump, crouch and reload may be useful choices, but the right layout depends on your game. Remapped controls do not automatically become new independent buttons that every game can bind. Check the manual before buying for a specific layout.

Before you choose a wired controller
Measure the route from your seat to the USB port, including slack for movement. Check whether you need USB-A or USB-C at the PC. A detachable cable helps with wear, but the replacement must carry data. Then check the store’s return terms so you can assess reach, grip and accidental button presses in your own hands.
Test the controller in your main game during the return period. Use a browser tester to check that buttons and axes respond, then check game prompts and rumble in the game itself. Hall sensors avoid a sliding electrical contact in the stick sensor. They do not make springs, cables, buttons or calibration immune to faults.
Questions before you decide
Is wired always faster than wireless?
No. Connection type is only one part of input delay. Firmware, game processing and display response also matter. A polling-rate claim alone cannot rank whole-system latency.
Do I need a 1,000 Hz controller?
It is not a requirement for PC play. Prioritize game support, comfort and useful controls. Higher report rates may have feature tradeoffs, so check the manual for the mode you plan to use.
Can a wired PC controller work on PlayStation?
Do not assume so. PC support does not grant console support. Check the exact model and console on the manufacturer’s compatibility list.
